About Us

We began operating in 1982, and have opened stores in Lewiston and Bangor. We strive to carry current and contemporary home furnishings at competitive prices. Our merchandise at World Over Imports is constantly changing and ever-growing. We often have items that are purchased at closeout costs allowing us to pass the savings onto our customers. Wyatt and Rachel Garfield have been in the home furnishing retail business since 1978 and have lived in Maine since 1982. World Over Imports supports numerous charities every year in Maine.

We carry many of the respected national brands and directly import our own designs in wood and rattan furniture, baskets and accessories.

*Economic conditions, especially for us middle priced retailers, have been brutal for the last few years. It is with great sadness that we have been forced to close the Bangor store after 15 years in business.
